Biography
Born in the United States, Fleischman first rose to notice as vocalist for Journey during the band’s residency in San Francisco, California. The outfit enlisted him in June 1977, immediately after the appearance of their opening release. A period spent on tour backing Emerson, Lake And Palmer ended with his removal in favor of Steve Perry, before any recording occurred. He resurfaced two years afterward through a solo debut, a stolid AOR collection that incorporated several tracks originally planned for Journey’s sophomore album. Commercial indifference brought his progress to a standstill until he signed on first with Channel and later with Vinnie Vincent’s Invasion, although neither association endured.
