Biography
Drummer Robert Williams' associations with such varied performers as Captain Beefheart, Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods, and the Stranglers' Hugh Cornwell naturally shape the eclectic character of his modest solo catalog. The two recordings he issued under his own name—the 1981 EP Buy My Record and the 1982 full-length Late One Night—draw on an equally broad stylistic palette, supported by contributions from guests that include Hugh Cornwell, Danny Elfman, the Doors' Robby Krieger, Wings' Laurence Juber, and players drawn from Devo, the Go-Go's, Captain Beefheart's band, and Frank Zappa's band.
