Emerging first into public view through his endearing performance as the alien Mork from Ork in the series Mork and Mindy, this versatile standup comic and actor built on that platform to achieve prominence via cable television specials and multiple feature films that encompassed The World According to Garp, Good Morning, Vietnam, Hook, Mrs. Doubtfire, and Good Will Hunting, the last of which brought him an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
