Rod Williams

Williams, serving as both pianist and bandleader, participated in a single Muse recording session alongside Marty Erlich, Graham Haynes, and Charnett Moffett during the closing years of the 1980s. Although his personal sound and style continue to evolve, earlier collaborations with Eddie Harris, David Murray, and Cassandra Wilson demonstrated his strong abilities. In settings ranging from expansive ensembles to intimate groups, he has proven reliable as both a featured performer and supportive player. His own leadership effort appears on compact disc, while Murray and Wilson’s more recent projects also feature his contributions.
