Formed in London, England, during 1984, the group’s founding members were Jim Lyttle on vocals and guitar, John Fraser Binnie on guitar after his time in Dirty Tricks, Kevin Collier on bass following his stint in Le Griffe, and Steve Kingsley on drums. The band inked a deal with Music For Nations and issued its first record, First Visit, in 1985, an effort packed with rapid, hard-edged metal carrying clear punk traces. Once stage performances highlighted Jim Lyttle’s magnetic stage presence, the quartet set out on a doomed U.S. trek. Attributing the poor support to Elektra Records, their American label, the musicians headed back to England to start work on a follow-up album. Steve Kingsley then departed, making way for session player Charlie Morgan to handle the drum tracks on the new recordings, though Danny Fury soon took over the drum stool. Animal Man appeared in 1986, after which the band split up.
