Biography
Ronney Abramson first entered the world in Paris before her family relocated to Montreal during her early years. Classical studies shaped her background, prompting her to begin composing songs and taking the stage as a teenager. Enrollment at McGill University drew her into the surrounding folk circuit. Strong local performances throughout Eastern Canada and New York led Capitol Records to sign her, and she issued her debut self-titled album in 1972. A subsequent move to Toronto brought the formation of a band, after which she secured a deal with True North and delivered several further records, among them Stowaway in 1977 and Jukebox of Paris in 1978.
