Biography
As the drummer for the Troggs, Ronnie Bond played in this raw British Invasion group that achieved multiple successes during the middle and later portions of the 1960s, among them the tracks "Wild Thing" and "Love Is All Around." Within the Troggs, the central personality was lead vocalist Reg Presley, responsible for composing the majority of the band's self-penned songs. On occasion, Bond himself contributed songs and vocals to Troggs recordings, yet these were primarily lesser-known album tracks and B-sides that fell far short of the group's standout work in terms of singing and overall quality. In 1969, Bond put out an uncommon unsuccessful solo release titled "Carolyn"/"Anything for You," which merits its lack of recognition due to its combination of poor vaudeville-style rock on the front and unremarkable orchestrated pop on the reverse. The two tracks from this single appeared again as additional material on the 2004 Repertoire compact disc edition of the Troggs' third British LP, Cellophane.
