Born on 12 May 1937 in Seattle, Washington, USA, this performer brings a distinctive gift for illuminating song lyrics alongside a jazz-tinged approach to the piano. His career has also encompassed acting and dance. Although he maintains his primary base in the New York vicinity, he has graced numerous refined venues across the city, among them Michael’s Pub, The Village Gate, the Sherry Netherland, the St. Regis, and the Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel. Additional domestic appearances have taken him to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, and Washington, while international bookings have carried him to Paris, Tokyo, Johannesburg, and São Paulo. On the concert stage he has played Town Hall and Carnegie Hall in New York and has taken part in various jazz festivals. Beyond singing, he has performed Shakespearean roles and assumed the central part in a staging of Pal Joey. He regularly collaborates with symphony orchestras and presents George Gershwin’s works, notably ‘Rhapsody In Blue’ as well as his personal adaptation of Porgy And Bess.
