Originating in the Northwest as a homemaker, Roseanne harnessed her trademark attacks on husbands to reach national prominence, starting along the stand-up circuit before moving into a hit television series. After disclosing her father’s sexual abuse and dropping her birth surname, she adopted the name Arnold and has matured into a skilled comedic performer as well as a major celebrity, despite ongoing attacks from tabloid publications.
