Rossy

Rossy's entry into music occurred through participation in soava, a street-corner practice built around indigenous instruments, hand-clapping, and lyrics on political subjects. He later assembled his own soava ensemble that replaced European percussion with African alternatives. In time he acquired the accordion, and alongside Mahaleo he placed the kabosy (traditional Malagasy guitar) inside the framework of an electric band. The group has since toured Germany and issued recordings there.
