Biography
Johnny Edwards, who had briefly filled in for Lou Gramm on Foreigner’s 1991 album Unusual Heat and had earlier played in King Kobra, the largely overlooked ’80s glam-metal project assembled by renowned drummer Carmine Appice, fronted the short-lived band Royal Jelly. Following his stint with Foreigner, Edwards formed the alt-funk group and won a contract with Island Records purely on the basis of an eight-track demo. Produced by Matt Wallace of Faith No More, the self-titled debut appeared in 1994, but its swift disappearance from view led the members to disband.
