Biography
Silver and Vitamin G formed the original core of Rubber Planet, handling vocals and bass alongside guitar duties. The pair first crossed paths as children, after which their shared musical interests carried them through various bands throughout the Midwest. Guitarist Brice later became the third member, at which point the three adopted the Rubber Planet name for their performances. Drummer Leo 7 soon completed the Denver quartet, solidifying the lineup that had long sought a permanent rhythm section. The group’s knack for blending pop and rock structures with unexpected alternative touches earned steady rotation on area stations and a steadily expanding local following. Their debut full-length, Lovejones 2000, appeared in 1999, followed one year later by the sophomore release Just Visiting. During summer 2000 the band also appeared on bills alongside Green Day and Papa Roach, further elevating their profile.
