Rubén Pozo

Rubén Pozo Prats entered the world in Barcelona during 1975 yet spent his formative years in Madrid. His initial foray into music came through Buenas Noches Rose, a group that issued three albums from 1995 to 1999 without attracting significant attention. Once that band dissolved, Pozo crossed paths with José Miguel Conejo Torres, better known as Leiva, and the pair launched the duo Pereza. Over the opening decade of the twenty-first century the act emerged as one of Spain’s leading pop-rock attractions. Starting from their 2001 debut album, Pozo issued six studio recordings along with assorted DVDs and a 2010 compilation available solely online. Although Leiva shaped most of the band’s hit songs, Pozo contributed numerous standout album cuts and served as lead guitarist. After Pereza declared a temporary break in September 2011, both musicians turned their focus to individual projects. Pozo’s first solo effort, Que Más, arrived in early 2012 and revealed a thoughtful, introspective quality that exceeded expectations, earning warm responses from listeners and reviewers.
