Biography
Rubikon, an experienced and adaptable Boston-based rock group, initiated development of their characteristic sound—a fusion of bluesy melodies with progressive metal elements inside hard rock—back in 2001 through two EPs that earned regional praise. The ensemble’s core members at that stage were Joshua Gruss on guitar and vocals, Doug Arkham handling drums and vocals, Hugh Eaton on bass, Dave Raymond covering guitar and banjo, plus Jae Sims supplying vocals, and in 2004 they delivered their first complete studio album, Hollow Men. Extensive touring followed, after which the musicians chose a hiatus to attend to personal stability over several years, yet activity resumed around 2009 and produced their second full-length release, American Dream Machine, in 2012. Marti Frederikson, whose credits include Aerosmith and Brother Cane, supplied production for the next studio project, resulting in the 2015 album Delta on Tapete Records.
