Biography
Originating from Cape Verde yet now based in Boston, Rui Pina fuses the islands’ traditional vocal styles with pop-tinged textures. Though he still appears from time to time alongside the ensemble Tabanka Djazz, his energies have lately shifted toward issuing recordings under his own name.
