Biography
An attractive fusion defines the output of The Runn Family, where mbira-rooted traditional lines intermingle with reggae and rhumba while their energetic brass ensemble draws particular notice. The group came together in the opening years of the 1980s and gained wider attention after issuing the single "Hachina Wekutamba Naye," a track that lamented the death of Mozambique president Samora Machel. Even while pursuing fresh directions, the ensemble continues to regard its core identity as traditional.
