Biography
Experimental rock outfit the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion first brought drummer Russell Simins into public view. He stepped out on his own in 2000, issuing the solo album Public Places via Grand Royal Records. Distinct from his prior efforts alongside Jon Spencer, the record opened space for Simins to handle duties beyond drumming and to pursue a broader spectrum of emotional territory.
