Biography
Rustie Blue, a singer and songwriter, first discovered her passion for country music when she was eight years old by performing at various county fairs throughout her hometown region of southeastern Ohio. Her connection to the style runs deep, as she descends from Merle Travis via her grandmother Lila Jane Travis, leading her to issue her first album, That Oughta Do It, during 2001. This effort cultivated a loyal niche audience for her and expanded her reach into broader audiences abroad, particularly in Europe, after her follow-up effort Enter at Your Own Risk—a blues-infused project—achieved chart success internationally. During 2002 and 2003, Blue traveled extensively across Denmark, Belgium, Germany, Holland, and Australia, far removed from her countryside origins. In 2005 she unveiled Chip Chip, which includes a collaboration alongside the renowned vocalist Whisperin' Bill Anderson.
