Biography
Originating from Leicester, England, neo-psychedelic guitarist and songwriter Alan Jenkins—previously active with the Deep Freeze Mice and the Chrysanthemums—entered into a brief partnership with the British indie pop band Po! (distinct from the American alt-rockers P'o) to establish Ruth's Refrigerator. The lineup consisted of Jenkins, Ruth Miller on vocals and guitar, keyboardist Blodwyn P. Teabag (later married to Jenkins), bassist Terri Lowe, and drummer Robyn Gibson. Under this banner the musicians produced two albums of jangly psych-pop, Suddenly a Disfigured Head Parachuted in 1990 and A Lizard Is a Submarine on Grass in 1991, although the undertaking was never conceived as a permanent group. Miller and Lowe subsequently rejoined Po!, while Jenkins, Teabag, and Gibson formed the Creams.
