Biography
Ryan Auffenberg, a singer, songwriter, and guitarist, entered the world in Jefferson City, Missouri, where his early years included church singing and classical guitar studies. Theater captured his attention during high school, so after graduation he headed to New York City for additional training in theater arts. Songwriting soon followed, and convinced that music offered his true direction, he crossed the country to California to pursue literature and theater at Santa Clara University. Once he completed his studies there, Auffenberg lived briefly in Chicago and spent time in London before returning to California and settling in San Francisco. In that city he began performing along the West Coast circuit and started collaborating with Dylan Magiecrek at Badman Recording. Climb appeared as a self-released album in 2003, and the self-released Bright Lights EP followed in 2006. He later signed with Evangeline Records, which released Marigolds in 2008.
