Biography
S.Fresh spent years handling management and production duties before pivoting to create and release his own music. He launched this new phase in the late 2000s by issuing a run of energetic club-oriented singles that helped him build a following, aided by opening slots on tours alongside acts such as 2 Chainz and by a succession of mixtape projects that included the 2012 release Red Cups and After Party's.
The Shreveport, Louisiana artist made the transition from behind-the-scenes roles to performing rapper in 2008, debuting with the single “Shawty Really Love It.” Both that track and the subsequent “Ask Dem Hoes” aligned with the prevailing Southern party-rap and radio-rap sound of the era, earning regional notice; the latter gained extra traction through guest appearances by Lil Boosie. Additional exposure came via a guest spot on a Jim Jones recording, after which S.Fresh maintained a steady output of new material throughout the following decade. Much of his focus during the early 2010s went toward the Red Cups mixtape series, which began with Red Cups and After Party's in 2012, followed by Red Cups II in 2013 and Red Cups 3 in 2015; contributions from producer Mike WiLL Made-It and rapper Drumma Boy helped define the sound of those installments. Between touring commitments and support dates for established artists, he continued dropping singles such as 2017’s “A1” featuring Kirko Bangz and 2019’s “Self Made.” The May 2019 arrival of the PM Vibez mixtape gathered a selection of earlier and previously unreleased recordings.
