Biography
The Seattle ensemble Sanford Arms draws its proficient from Ben London, a musician previously aligned with the post-punk outfit Alcohol Funnycar. London’s 1998 configuration of the group deliberately tempers forceful guitar textures and restricts any resulting tension to measured levels. Rob Witmer supplies accordion and keyboards, Harris Thurmond handles guitar, Jeff Wood manages bass, and Rob Dent plays drums, together generating restrained rhythmic support and consistently ingratiating instrumental dialogue.
