Biography
SAPPHIRE, the British singer and songwriter, cultivated an enormous online audience through her digital interpretations of both enduring and current pop material, well before the arrival of her first major-label project, the festive EP Driving Home for Christmas, in 2020.
Born in 2003, she began issuing her own renditions of pop songs at the age of seven. Once these performances appeared on video platforms, her commanding vocals rapidly drew listeners, resulting in the release of her first EP, Candy, upon reaching age 13.
As her web presence expanded to include material centered on teen style and personal development, SAPPHIRE produced an array of covers drawn from Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, and additional artists, later assembling them into the 2017 collections Candy, Vol. 2 and Vol. 3.
Further singles appeared across the subsequent two years, among them a partnership with dance producer Alan Walker on the track “Unity.”
