Biography
Sarah Ferri, a Belgian singer and songwriter whose sound fuses gypsy swing with soul-jazz, piano pop, bossa nova, and country elements, has earned comparisons to artists ranging from Ane Brun and Emiliana Torrini to Joni Mitchell. With roots tracing to an Italian father and Belgian mother, she spent her formative years in Ghent, where her breakthrough came via a victory in a competition during the 2009 Gentse Feesten. After opening for acts including Caro Emerald, Simply Red, and Jools Holland & His Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, the acclaimed Ferritales emerged as her debut full-length in 2012.
