Biography
Sarah Potenza, a commanding singer and composer equally fluent in pop, blues, soul, country, and Americana, first reached a nationwide audience as a participant on season eight of The Voice. Prior to entering that widely followed televised competition, she had devoted seven years to leading her own group, Sarah & the Tall Boys. Once she and her husband moved to Nashville, Potenza concentrated on sharpening her songwriting, soon earning regular acclaim at the storied Bluebird Cafe as well as on the Music City Roots series. The growing attention ultimately drew NBC’s notice, placing her in front of coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Pharrell Williams. Selected for Shelton’s team, she emerged as a viewer favorite, advanced to the Top 20, and placed three chart-topping tracks from the program on iTunes. In 2016 she issued her long-awaited first solo record, the deeply soulful Monster.
