Biography
Greek techno producer Savvas Ysatis first drew notice chiefly through shared projects with Taylor Deupree, yet he steadily built an independent standing as a respected figure in the genre. Born in Greece, he left for New York at fifteen to focus on music and remained there through much of his early adulthood. During those years he placed material on Instinct alongside Deupree under the names SETI, Futique, and Arc while also releasing solo work as Omicron and Minipop. By the close of the 1990s, after completing the conceptual Tower of Winds album with Deupree, he secured a full-length slot on Berlin’s storied Tresor label, which produced the well-regarded Highrise, an effort that fully adopted classic techno conventions. That recognition in turn drew him back to Greece, where he now holds local-hero status and steers the development of the nation’s expanding techno community.
