Biography
Growing up amid the tougher neighborhoods surrounding Housten, Texas-based rapper Saxkboy KD channels his personal experiences into his music. Felony charges landed him in prison for a year when he was 17, after which two additional years of house arrest followed; he devoted that period to refining his craft by composing lyrics and sharpening his delivery. Reaching out to Housten rapper Lil 3rd opened the door to the area’s music community, where he began appearing at showcases and cyphers. The track “Bipolar Depression” drew the notice of Versatile Enterprises CEO SWAC, who challenged him to complete 54 songs within 21 days. In 2023 Cash Money Records offered him a deal, and his debut EP for the imprint, The Show Must Go On, arrived that same year alongside That Mexican OT.
