Biography
In his guise as SBach, Spencer Seim—who plays guitar in Hella and drums in the Advantage—blends Commodore 64 lo-fi textures with agitated, riff-driven math rock pieces. The name SBach stems from merging Mr. Spock with Sebastian Bach, a label Seim coined to evoke classical compositions from another world, and it marked the title of his debut solo album issued by Suicide Squeeze on August 19, 2008. That date fell precisely one week after Hella collaborator and drummer Zach Hill put out Astrological Straits via Ipecac.
