Electronic/techno producer SCB functions as the darker, more streamlined alias of Paul Rose, better known as Scuba. After establishing himself through years of innovative work in bass and dubstep under the Scuba name while also operating the similarly progressive Hotflush label, Rose adopted the SCB identity specifically to focus on more direct techno output. The project’s inaugural single, “Hard Boiled,” surfaced in 2010 and then appeared only intermittently over the ensuing period. A sequence of EPs followed in 2017 under the SCB name, paving the way for the artist’s first full-length effort, Caibu, which arrived in 2018.
