Biography
Super bassist Bootsy Collins has added Science Faxtion to his long roster of side projects, drawing chiefly on the Praxis core of Collins on bass, Buckethead on guitar, and Brian "Brain" Mantia on drums, while enlisting versatile singer and guitarist Greg Hampton together with programmer DJ Botieus. Leaning toward the rock edge of funk, the band pursued a futuristic funk sound—essentially an extension of the approach Collins has maintained across his prolific career—on the debut album Living on Another Frequency, issued in fall 2008 on Mascot Records with guest contributions from Bernie Worrell, rapper Chuck D, and others.
