Biography
In 1994 an all-black rock band took shape in London, England, with Richard Martin handling vocals, Steve Wellington on guitar, Steve Liburd on bass and Johann James on drums. The quartet stepped into wider view the next year by opening for Body Count across the UK. Their raw and uncompromising rock style echoed the approaches of both Anthrax and Red Hot Chili Peppers. The group then appeared at an anti-racist carnival staged on Plumstead Common in London, a short distance from the headquarters of the extreme right-wing British National Party. Further opening dates alongside Crown Of Thorns and Skunk Anansie came afterward, leading directly into the band’s first recording sessions.
