Emerging from New York City as a promising rapper, Sdot Go has cultivated followers independently while also aligning with the SweepersENT group, joined by his peers Jay Hound, NazGPG, and Jay5ive. Shadon Burnell by birth, he grew up in the Douglass projects of Manhattan, positioning himself as a notable figure within the confrontational New York drill environment responsible for launching talents such as the deceased Pop Smoke along with Ice Spice. The year 2020 saw his initial hit “WNA” directly target both alive and deceased affiliates of the 2woo gang from Harlem, implying a tough persona on the streets that aligns with multiple arrests involving firearms. Despite this, the song’s popularity paved the way for additional releases including “Hazard Lights,” “Free G,” “I Like to Party,” and “GOMD,” many achieving widespread streams in the millions. These efforts formed the foundation for his debut mixtape Free Sdot: Til It’s Backwards, which arrived in 2024.
