Biography
In 1998, Jeremy Irvin on guitar and vocals, Kelly Scullin on bass and vocals, Carrie Neumayer on guitar and vocals, and Evan Bailey on drums and vocals came together in Louisville, KY, under the name Second Story Man. Their melodic indie pop relied on a gentle, guitar-driven approach, which first appeared on the 1998 cassette debut titled Three Songs. A split-CD EP shared with fellow Louisville act the Helgeson Story followed in 1999, after which Landmark Recordings issued the EP Weddings, Parties, Sympathy the subsequent year.
