Biography
Around the Tresor label and its affiliated club, a circle of Berlin DJs and producers first assembled. Their earliest tracks surfaced on the Headquarters compilation released by Tresor, which also presented several other rising Berlin talents. Drawing inspiration from the enigmatic Detroit outfit Underground Resistance, the elusive group issued its debut album Spektrum Weltweit and later followed it with a remix collection drawn from the same record. Scant press coverage accompanied the project, and Tresor deliberately fostered anonymity by describing the act in its promotional materials as "a flexible cluster of DJs and producers." Yet the liner notes of Spektrum Weltweit name T. Litschko and H. Vaak as the producers. The resulting music remains measured and avoids aggression. Refined arrangements and timbres are matched by a thread of experimental detail that never disrupts overall coherence. Provided Sender Berlin maintains the standard of its formative releases, the act appears among the more credible successors to the label’s distinguished roster of earlier artists.
