Biography
Septic Tank exploded into existence in 1994, unleashing a ferocious onslaught they label "punk, noise, and low-grade metal" as a thrash-punk side project modeled on Discharge and assembled by veterans of the steadfast English doom metal band Cathedral. Lee Dorrian supplied vocals while Gary Jennings handled guitar, both pulled from Cathedral, with Repulsion bassist Scott Carlson rounding out a roster that precisely replicated Cathedral's configuration. A handful of tracks emerged in the immediate aftermath of formation, yet two full decades elapsed before any recordings reached the public. Inspired by blistering hardcore and metal outfits including Frost, Motörhead, and Japanese punk legends G.I.S.M., the group finally issued its debut album, Rotting Civilisation, in 2018 through Rise Above Records, the London-based independent label owned by Dorrian.
