In 2007 the veteran Spanish singer-songwriters Joan Manuel Serrat and Joaquín Sabina joined forces under the name Serrat & Sabina for an extensive tour across the Spanish-speaking world. Their Madrid concert was captured for the live CD/DVD Dos Pájaros de un Tiro, which quickly found an audience upon release. Backing the pair onstage were Pancho Varona on acoustic guitar, Antonio García de Diego handling guitar, keyboards and harmonica, Pedro Barceló on drums, José Antonio Romero on guitar, Ricard Miralles at the piano, Víctor Merlo on bass, Patxi Urchegui on trumpet, José Miguel Pérez on saxophone, Roberto Bazán on trombone, and background vocalists Paqui Sánchez and Marcela Ferrari. The 72-date trek opened on June 29 in Zaragoza, Spain, wound through Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile and Uruguay, and closed on December 18 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Sony BMG issued several editions of Dos Pájaros de un Tiro that December, all documenting the Madrid show. Five years later the duo resurfaced with the studio album La Orquestra Del Titanic.
