Servo

Drawing inspiration from Leatherface, Snuff, Hüsker Dü, and Sugar, Servo formed to bring their distinctive strain of loose, female-fronted pop-punk to listeners throughout the U.K. The group included singer/guitarist Carolyn, drummer Jamie, bassist Steve, and second guitarist Andy. After receiving the band’s debut six-song demo, Blueprint, Crackle Records swiftly embraced Servo and first issued that recording as a 7" in July 1998, then released the quartet’s initial full-length album, Everything’s Difficult, in 1999.
