Biography
The Orlando-rooted quintet Seven Nations blends an eclectic range of musical influences while sharing a unified drive to craft a distinctive sonic identity. Their sound fuses American traditional rock with Celtic-infused roots rock, layering the atmospheric textures of mandolin, violin, bagpipes, and horns into a global rhythmic tapestry of rock & roll. Operating entirely independently, the group secured self-produced television features on ESPN, PBS, and CNN, moving over 125,000 units across numerous releases without major-label backing or marketing support. Established in 1994, Seven Nations features vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Kirk MacLeod alongside fiddle player Dan Stacey, bassist Struby, mandolinist and bagpiper Scott Long, and drummer Ashton Geoghagan. The ensemble performed for crowds exceeding 40,000 at Scotland’s Edinburgh Festival, and in fall 2000 Dewar’s Scotch partnered to support the band’s first wide-release, self-titled effort. Following prominent live appearances at the New York City Marathon and the 2002 Winter Olympics Torch Arrival Ceremony, the members returned to the studio, where And Now It’s Come To This emerged in summer 2002.
