Biography
An award-winning singer, producer, and label head from Ivory Coast, Shado Chris blends hip-hop, R&B, and dance-infused pop into his distinctive sound. Beyond his own releases such as the 2014 single “Mon Lahan” and the 2017 track “Chaleur,” he has lent his production skills to Zeynab, Serge Beynaud C Nous Les Boss, Force One, and numerous other performers.
Fale Djerianene Christian Marc-Alexandre entered the world in 1987 in Cocody, an Abidjan suburb, yet spent his formative years in Ferkessédougou. There he absorbed a wide range of Ivorian and American recordings by Meiway, Almighty, Stezo, Michael Jackson, and 2Pac, among others. By his mid-teens he had joined a neighborhood choir, sharpening his voice while simultaneously teaching himself computer-based production techniques. He maintained these musical pursuits even while completing a university degree in telecom engineering.
The year 2008 saw the self-produced arrival of his debut project Metizik, an undertaking that prompted him to establish his own studio. Word spread among local talent, resulting in production work for many artists and the formation of the group Kiff No Beat. Additional partnerships soon followed with DJ Lewis, Debordo Doliziana, Bamba Ami Sarah, DJ Moasco, DJ Mareshal, Force One, and still more musicians.
Chris issued “Mon Lahan” in 2014, then continued with “J’S8 Jahin Prêt” alongside Serge Beynaud C Nous Les Boss and “Said” featuring Runtown and Nasty C. During a period spent in Kenya he created tracks and made television appearances before returning to Ivory Coast, where he collected several honors: two 2016 Ivorian Music Oscar nominations for Best Male Artist and Best Music Video, a Gold Kundé nod for Best Artist in West Africa, an Afrima Award nomination for the Zeynab collaboration “Noctambule,” and the Best Beatmaker prize at the RapIvoire Awards. In 2017 he unveiled “Chaleur” and simultaneously launched his Aura Corp imprint, guiding the early careers of Kadja, D14, J-Haine, Micem, and Mister Key. The 2018 single “Kitadi” paired him with Cameroonian vocalist Locko, while “C’est Pas Pae” appeared in 2020.
