Biography
Born in Malaysia, Shelley Leong established herself as a multi-instrumentalist singer and songwriter within the country’s expanding independent music community. Recognition from wider audiences followed quickly with a 2005 nomination for Best New Artist, the same year she earned a scholarship to Berklee College of Music. After completing her studies she maintained dual bases in Kuala Lumpur and her newly adopted home of San Francisco, issuing her debut album Storyteller soon afterward. Further notice arrived in 2007 when she received an honorable mention in the Billboard World Songwriting Contest.
