Sherri Roberts sings jazz with a notably warm vocal tone. Greenville, South Carolina, is her birthplace, while Atlanta is where she grew up. In 1979 she earned a theater degree from college, then relocated that same year to San Francisco, where she immersed herself in both jazz and classic pop, took lessons from Jeri Southern, and performed around the local scene. Her recording career began on the Brownstone imprint with the 1994 release Twilight World, followed by Dreamsville in 1997. She later joined the Blue House/Pacific Jazz roster, issuing The Sky Could Send You in 2006 and Lovely Days in 2013; the albums featured support from Phil Woods, Chris Potter, Lew Soloff, Mark Soskin, Danny Gottlieb, and Harvie S., who also produced selected sessions and contributed bass.
