Biography
Shorthanded came together as an American punk band in Oregon back in 1995, started by Andy Wiseman on bass and vocals, Chad Davis on drums, and Steve Davis on guitar. Steve departed shortly after formation, prompting a reconfiguration that locked in the enduring trio of Wiseman (now on guitars and vocals), Chad Davis, and Jason Zeh on bass. Their first releases arrived via Boot to Head Records: a self-titled 7" in 1997, the full-length Simple in 1998, and the Slices of Life EP in 1999. Tooth & Nail signed the band in 1999 and put out Forever Yours in 2001. Produced by Bill Stevenson and Stephen Egerton of Descendents/ALL, the album mixed previously issued Boot to Head tracks with new material. Activity remained quiet for years afterward while members focused on other pursuits. Wiseman, Davis, and Zeh reconnected in the early 2020s and resumed recording with Stevenson involved once more, resulting in the 2022 track “Loco Lucky” plus “Arabica” and “Waiting Up at Home” in 2023.
