Formed in early 2005 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Sick City bypassed the typical struggles of emerging acts and moved rapidly into prominent live opportunities. They quickly secured opening slots alongside Papa Roach, It Dies Today, Bedlight for Blue Eyes, and From Autumn to Ashes, while also joining the road packages for Taste of Chaos and Warped. Their five-song EP, Where Do Go from Here, generated early interest and drew the attention of Canadian label Smallman Records, which signed the band for releases in the Great White North, with Trustkill managing distribution elsewhere. For their debut full-length, Josh Youngson on vocals, Joel Neufeld on drums, Dorian Paszkowski on guitar, Dave Grabowski on guitar, and T.J. Stevenson on bass headed to Atlanta’s Tree Sound Studios, where veteran scene producers Kenneth Mount and Zack Odom oversaw the sessions. The resulting 12-track album, Nightlife, appeared in 2007.
