Sightless Pit unites participants drawn from the Body, Lingua Ignota, and Full of Hell. Their first album, the 2020 release Grave of a Dog, assembles grim, oppressive sonic environments built from warped rhythms, altered samples, and vocal work that ranges from screams to operatic passages. Industrial hip-hop components entered the picture on the follow-up, 2023’s Lockstep Bloodwar.

Lee Buford of the Body, Kristin Hayter of Lingua Ignota, and Dylan Walker of Full of Hell have long crossed paths through performances and recordings with their main projects. The three convened for sessions between 2017 and 2019 at Pawtucket, Rhode Island’s Machines with Magnets studio, shaping material both on their own and together. Thrill Jockey put out Grave of a Dog that same year, a sprawling post-industrial noise rock album notable for its complete lack of guitars. Sightless Pit resurfaced in 2023 with Lockstep Bloodwar, a hip-hop-influenced effort that includes guest contributions from Gangsta Boo (Three 6 Mafia), Frukwan (Gravediggaz, Stetsasonic), YoshimiO (Boredoms, OOIOO), claire rousay, and others.
