Biography
Hailing from Los Angeles, Silent Rival delivers an exuberant, high-energy style of rock shot through with dance elements. Their sound fuses classic rock, '90s indie pop, glam, and electronic influences, bringing the band early notice via the 2017 debut album The Kindness of Strangers.
The project was founded in 2017 and features Orange County-bred vocalist Sara Coda together with Mexico-born guitarist Joz Ramirez. The pair had already played in another band before establishing this unit, after which they developed original material shaped by Aerosmith, Gladys Knight, U2, Led Zeppelin, and assorted additional glam and pop sources. Their first album, The Kindness of Strangers, arrived in 2017 with production from Matt Wallace (Maroon 5, Andy Grammer, Faith No More). Following a tour alongside Night Riots, they issued their second long-player, Elevator, in 2020.
