Simone Gatto

Hailing from Southern Italy, Simone Gatto maintains a dual role as DJ and creator of deep, dubby house and techno while overseeing the Out-Er imprint. His productions favor smooth, warm, hypnotic textures built around minimal yet funky melodies laced with echo. Producing and performing since the mid-2000s, he established Out-Er in 2011 and promptly issued EPs there plus on Safari Numerique and Kina Music. Dutch techno veteran Orlando Voorn placed Gatto’s Deep Vibes EP on Night Vision in 2014 and joined him for several co-productions. The 2014 Holzwege EP, issued via Out-Er, carried a remix from Dutch analog electro artist Legowelt. Gatto teamed with Haiku (Lorenzo Esposito) for the 2015 Sonntagnacht EP on the latter’s Raw Waxes label. Sheik ‘N’ Beik delivered his first album-length statement, Detachment, in 2016.
