Biography
Siobhan Magnus stood out among American Idol’s more unconventional participants when she drew viewers in during the program’s 2010 season through her unflappable stage presence and soaring soprano voice. Still just 19 at the outset of that season, she had only recently completed her studies at Barnstable High School in Hyannis, MA. Her introduction to serious musical study occurred there, where participation in the school’s drama club—highlighted by starring parts in multiple student musicals—was captured on camera for High Drama, the WB reality series that followed Barnstable’s staging of The Wizard of Oz. Twelve months after that production, she headed to Boston for an American Idol audition and ultimately placed among the season’s final ten contestants.
