Biography
Skycycle, an alternative rock outfit based in Los Angeles, featured singer/songwriter Steve Isaacs as its central figure. Prior to that role, Isaacs had worked as a graphic artist and website designer while also portraying the lead character in the touring Broadway production of Tommy, the rock opera by The Who. He assembled the band alongside guitarist Sven Shenar, bassist Kelly Castro, and drummer Rob Brown, choosing the name to reference the rocket-powered motorcycle Evel Knievel rode during his 1974 attempt to clear Snake River Canyon. The group’s debut EP, Breathing Water, came out on MCA in 1998, followed by Ones and Zeros in 2000.
