Banjoist Tony Trischka joined Skyline, a band that helped shape the newgrass movement of the 1980s through its fusion of bluegrass and country influences, anchored by memorable material and precise vocal harmonies. The group placed several releases on the Flying Fish label, among them Late to Work in 1981, Stranded in the Moonlight in 1984, Skyline Drive in 1986, and the final album, Fire of Grace, issued in 1989.
