Slaughter the Giant

Slaughter the Giant emerged from the Belgian city of Aarschot in Flanders as a melodic death metal outfit that fuses technical precision and dark atmospheric textures with confident compositional skill. Their initial impact arrived via the 2019 EP Asylum of the Damned, which generated favorable local attention. By 2022 the group issued their well-received first album Depravity, an effort frequently likened to the work of death metal standard-bearers At the Gates, Black Dahlia Murder, and Fleshgod Apocalypse. The band’s trajectory shifted again with the 2024 EP Abomination, which incorporated symphonic black metal ingredients while delving into subject matter centered on Lovecraftian horror, extraterrestrial abductions, and the mindset of serial killers.
